Does anybody know where I can find the material that some speakers manufacturers put behind the grill, generally on Inceiling speakers? What kind of material is that? I looked at Parts Express but I couldn't find it.

Pedro, getting grill material has never been easy. Radio Shack used to sell it (maybe still, but I doubt it) and the colors were usually odd. In our repair days we would occasionally order material from JBL but more often go to the fabric store and see what would work. It was always more of a time burn than anything. Maybe the fabric store has some thin white material you can cut to fit.

Would this stuff work?

It is called Gossamer. Used in party decorations. Typically comes on a long roll, lots of colors & patterns.

Plenty of places online, just google it.

It's called a "scrim" cloth, but I don't know where to get it...
You need something fairly open.

The reason most vendors took it out was because moron painters left it in and painted the grills and the scrim soaked up all the paint and got rock hard.

The homeowner's thought that the speakers were blown because they didn't play as loud and sounded muffled... and some people blew up the electronics trying to make them play louder.

Fabric stores and upholstery shops should have this type of material.

That's exactly what I was referring to. Thanks Kevin.
