I've been programming Prontos for almost 5 years now and have a couple hundred under my belt. But it never fails, the death of me is DVD VCR combos. Can anyone relate to my pain?
We would never sell one of these to a customer but a lot of times they have purchased their own because they want to record their old vhs tapes to dvd.
Has anyone come accross a unit that is CI friendly? (the pain of knowing the anser is no is kiling me!)

There's no such thing as a good or even acceptable DVD/VHS combo.

What you're looking for is the equivilant of looking for a good case of herpes.

Well theres Herpes, and then theres genital Herpes.

Ive had to do a few Sony's when a combo was a necessity. They are decent w discreets. (The Herpes method)

I have had luck with Sony as well, not a big fan of the combo thing, not a big fan of Sony either, but it does have discretes. Toshiba is by far the worst combo unit I have had the pleasure of working with.

The Sony isn 't bad. Discretes for the Panasonics have changed in past year, but are still findable. There's also an AG-series Panasonic that behaves more like a DVD player and a VCR that happen to share a box.
