I have a question.

In conduit speak, what does "LB" stand for?

(maybe that'll cheer him up a bit)

Think it's just an acronym (sort of) for "elbow."

I stand corrected by Floyd. (but his posts seem to be moderated and not coming through right away) He wasn't sure about the L (thinks it might be part of ell or I still think it's for 'elbow'), but the B is for where the hole is i.e. "back" of the box. You can get LRs where the return is to the right side so I know he's got to be right.

Hey, guys! I just tonight found the forum again. I didn't know it was alive and well!

An LB is a conduit body with a removeable cover for pulling access. They also come in C (straight thru), T, LL and LR, and other variations. Here's a pic:

I thought "weatherheads" were used for "service entrances" (sorry, no pic.);)

That too:)

I didnt say it was the CORRECT name. But we actually use the "LB"'s for service entrance/POE. Conduit comes up from ground, "LB" installed on end of conduit and the 90* bend is inserted into a 1" (or 1 1/4") hole in building at the POE.
