There's a thread going on RC about this guy Wesley Mullins and his wiring standard. I think the idea has merit, and merits discussion here.

I have no experience setting industry standards, but pleny setting standards for my little company. It works well for us internally. That being said...

What standard could be set for wiring that we collectively could adhere to that would

1. Save us $$ through standardization
2. Make us look good for projecting a professional, organized look to the outside world
3. Help build our business

Some poorly formed ideas I have include:

A. A tv jack wiring and term plate standard that would support CATV, off-air, sat, and DA feed.
B. A DA room wiring standard that would support vc, keypad, automation.
C. A system head end location wiring and term plate standard that would support mulitple sources, DA feed, all sorts of stuff going both ways.

Anyone interested in hashing this one out?
