The nice thing is that it appears this new feature set can be added to existing projects with models like the S20, which has been a popular model among integrators.

Cloud-Based Remote Monitoring and Support Solution for Power Conditioning Products Will Enhance Home AV Systems’ Performance, Protect Equipment and Conserve Energy

ORLANDO, FL–(Marketwire – Jun 13, 2011) – APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, today announced a partnership with ihiji to develop IP-enabled power conditioning products that provide users with convenient and comprehensive remote monitoring and support options. The ihiji invision solution is an award-winning cloud-based remote monitoring and support system that enables 24/7 two-way communication with entertainment, network and lighting systems and other consumer electronic equipment.

“With the growing sophistication of home electronics, many consumers want to protect their investments while also managing home theater systems and IP-enabled devices remotely,” said Dave Johnson, Senior Vice President, Home and Business Networks, APC by Schneider Electric. “Our partnership with ihiji, along with development of new IP-enabled power conditioners, offers consumers a best-in-class solution that optimizes performance of equipment, protects sensitive components and provides convenient remote access.”

APC’s lineup of IP-enabled power management devices powered by ihiji will enable integrators to reduce servicing costs and increase system reliability while allowing dealers to better-serve customers following installations. The invision remote monitoring and support system can integrate all IP-enabled devices as well as many non-IP devices connected via a control system in a consumer’s home, providing a single point of access to manage equipped home systems remotely through a convenient online support portal.

“By utilizing the ihiji invision system, APC customers will be able to quickly configure both monitoring and remote support without the need for on-site servers, network configuration or additional software,” said Stuart Rench, CEO of ihiji. “The low-cost invision appliance is simply plugged into the network. All other configuration can be done conveniently through the cloud-based web interface.”

APC Power Conditioners are designed to protect televisions, home theater surround sound systems, gaming systems, routers, modems and additional home and office equipment from all potential power threats in the home environment, including interference and power spikes.

APC offers a wide range of products compatible with the ihiji invision remote monitoring and support system. APC Smart-UPS®, Rack PDUs, and S20BLK Power Conditioners contain the functionality to operate in conjunction with the ihiji invision remote monitoring and support system and have been certified as ihiji invision ready™. APC customers who have used and trusted these products will now benefit from the ability to remotely monitor and control their devices through ihiji’s cloud-based services. APC will demonstrate multiple IP-enabled products for home users at InfoComm booth 4150, June 15-17, 2011 in Orlando, Florida.
