August is Outdoor Installations Month.

Share pics and descriptions of the coolest outdoor sound and outdoor theater systems.

It doesn't matter if the home is a giant castle or a little balcony on a condo, the point is that it was the place to be due to the sound (and possibly video) system.

Residential systems only please.

Sitting on the dock in a bay (just outside of a place called Westport Ontario), Terra Speakers on a dock driven by a CT600.3.

Here's the little system that was my first freelance programming job... inside there's 20 zones of distributed audio/video, stats, security, paging, and a pretty cool theater...

Outside there's 3 zones, the pool house has a 55" Samsung LED, 4 in ceiling Sonance speakers and a RTI T1/TPS300L for control...

The pool and upper patio are covered with James satellites and two subs.... controlled by a RTI U2...

The hot-tub area has a SunBright display and 4 Sonance Mariners and is also controlled by a RTI U2...

This is connected to a Crestron AES that also controls the pool/spa... it's connected to the main house over wifi and any touchscreen can control any zone as well as the pool/spa functions.

Indoor TV outside.

No Sunbrite or Pantel here... just a cheap 60" Sharp LCD. This is part of a take over job I've been working on between other projects for the last couple months to fix, upgrade and repair.

Replaced an old 52" LCD that had failed after 4 years outdoors. Gave the client the option of a 60" sunbrite or 60" Sharp that I'd only guarantee for the day it was installed... they chose the Sharp. Also replaced a MX-980 that was still working after 4 years outdoors (but the screen failed after being dropped in the jacuzzi). Sorted out the programming and moved one of the speakers that was originally placed behind the TV to a better location and fixed a bad connection at the sub.

60" Sharp LCD
5.1 Surround (QSC speakers)
MX-980 & MSC-400 Control
DirecTV & Blu-Ray Sources
Yamaha AVR
Equipment rack with sources located in Guest House closet
Nice outdoor Palapa/Pool area with wood buring pizza oven, full commercial kitchen with beer & soda taps. Infinity edge pool overlooking the Pacific with swim up bar and jacuzzi.

All I have are phone pictures:

That looks peaceful... Can I visit?

It was a week day and it was peaceful, not sure on how busy it is on the weekends.

When selling against slammers, we jokingly called this type of coverage the 'tail lights warranty'.... your warranty expires when the installers' tail lights went over the horizon. :)

LAST CALL ON OUTDOOR INSTALLS!!

Give me a couple months, and we should have a cool one finished.

Now that's a custom install!

Wonder what the cost was for that install? Or should I say nice to have the budget to do custom install like that.
