Draper Profile Makes Bold Statement with More Image, Less Frame

(Spiceland, Ind.) – Sometimes you need to combine the bigger size and other advantages of projection with the clean, stylish, high tech look of a flat panel display. During CEDIA 2014, Draper, Inc. will show off the solution. The Profile permanently tensioned projection screen makes a bold statement in your home, office, classroom or wherever a dramatic look is desired.

The Profile’s sleek, mitered cut frame has a trim 3/8" (1 cm) wide bezel, in an attractive, deep black to frame your image. The face of the frame is less than 13⁄4" (4.5 cm) away from the wall, with a beveled back giving the screen the appearance of floating in front of the wall.

The Profile is available with Draper’s revolutionary new TecVisionTM viewing surfaces, our premium ambient light rejecting High Performance XS850E, and OptiFlex front projection surfaces, in sizes up to 156" (396 cm) wide.

The Profile uses Draper’s patented Fabric Retention System, which ensures proper tensioning of the screen material, and an incredibly flat viewing surface, without snaps.

To see the Profile in action, visit booth 364 at CEDIA 2014, September 10-13 in Denver, or visit ww.draperinc.com/go/profile.htm.

Draper TecVision New Engineered Screen Technology

(Spiceland, Ind.) – In recent years projectors and projection technology have been advancing quickly. Draper has taken projection screen technology another step into the future with the creation of TecVision Engineered Surface Technology. TecVision can be seen in action during CEDIA 2014. Available in six exclusive formulations for now, TecVision features white surfaces with gains ranging from 1.0 to 1.9 over remarkably wide viewing cones, and grey surfaces with excellent performance under higher room light levels. TecVision is 4K ready, and five of the new surfaces are certified by the Imaging Science Foundation for excellent color reproduction and fidelity.

“There are few companies in the world who are experts in designing projection screen surfaces,” according to Draper company president John Pidgeon. “Most screen fabrics are made by firms whose primary business is manufacturing textiles for other purposes. We’ve made a major investment in equipment, expert personnel and research time specifically to offer this line of revolutionary new surfaces unmatched by any other screen manufacturer in the world.”

TecVision also offers a departure from typical screen production, according to Bob Mathes, AV/Video Sales and Marketing Manager for Draper. “Utilizing technologically advanced manufacturing methods, proprietary scientific formulations and establishing the highest quality standard, we are prepared to meet the rigorous demands of today’s projectors and the environments in which screens are and will be used,” Mathes says. “Rather than using “mass-production” methods in order to minimize costs, TecVision screens are individually formulated and programmed, and manufactured with multiple checks for quality, consistency and uniformity from start to finish.”

These premium surfaces are not sold online and are only available through qualified Draper dealers.“We are pretty excited about TecVision,” says Pidgeon. “These surfaces are just the start. The sky’s the limit as far as surfaces we can create to match whatever specs require.”

Founded in 1902 as a window shade manufacturer, Draper, Inc., is a Spiceland, Ind.-based manufacturer of projection screens and lifts and mounts for projectors and displays, providing AV related equipment for over Draper has focused a lot of resources on product design, with innovations like the Access family of motorized screens, improved tab tensioning system and revolutionary modular portable screens. Two and a half years ago we moved our primary focus to the surfaces themselves, and their optical performance. We built a world class testing lab, and worked with consultants and key suppliers to identify and refine ingredients to improve the optical performance of our surfaces. Since then we have introduced many new surfaces to address specific needs in the marketplace. And we developed the new standard in surface planning tools, the Draper Pro Screen Calculator.

Draper products are sold to dealers and shipped throughout the United States and to more than 100 countries. In addition to its Spiceland, Indiana headquarters, Draper, Inc. has sales offices in Placentia, CA and in Blackwood, Gwent, United Kingdom.
