Some of the highlights are the increased fines, with some up by 78% and the restriction to retaliate against employees who call in OSHA. Many times OSHA is called in is from a former disgruntled employee.

For those of you who employ people that even approach a ladder, you better have your safety procedures, training and paperwork trail in order.

Agreed - know the rules and how to protect yourself, your employees, your insurance rates, your customers, etc.
Document how proactive you are as a business owner with educating your employees and advising them on safety. Have them sign-off on daily tool box meetings and other pertinent training opportunities. Your "Safety File" should not be blank, waiting for an injury to be recorded and added to the file. It should be jam packed with all the education and proactive way in which you promote and encourage safety....so that one one accident does take place, your file is 99% proactive and 1% oops.
