Is the RF really that weak?

Why even bother with the MX-600. If you want a remote that doesn't require a computer to program, go to the MX-650 or even the MX-350. Both can use the MRF-250 or MRF-300. Haven't had any problems with range up to about 60 ft.

I wont sell the 600/650. My time is valuable. The 850s are much faster to program.

agreed. By the time you program a no PC remtoe control, the customer could have bought the PC one and had it programmed in half the time. My boss is a big fan of the URC non-pc programming remtoes. He hates computers and thinks that programming an MX500 for five devices is easy. WHatever you want to do I guess. PC remtoes are quick and easy. I get frustrated editing the names of the buttons on the MX600 to what I want.

Kelly,

to answer your question, no, not in the one situation where I used one. I had really good range with no weak spots anywhere it mattered.

We have two or three of them sitting on the shelf gathering dust... Never even thought about using them...

I let NOTHING sit on the shelf collecting dust....Well, maybe a couple really useless items...

Going way back:

Need the stupid RF "extender" that slips over the end of a Hughes satellite remote? Yup, got one.

Some various M&S intercom parts from circa 1985 or so? Yes, we have them, what ya need?

An original Xantech "Smartpad"? Sure, but we don't have the stupid little pop in indicators.....

A Terk "leap frog"? Yeah, I tried one....No, it doesn't really work for diddly.

got a leapfrog or two, too! Boy do I wish that was the worst of it!... We have so much stuff, it's really not funny. A couple of those Nakamichi mini systems, some Infinity speakers with powered woofers from that last time they tried to come back a few years ago. Our used equipment rack is like a museum display... Some day we'll get a free moment and have a tent sale...
