Any suggestions for either a music server compatible with Mac or a CD changer, (300+). Client does not want to spend more than about $500 or so. Mac connection would be via ethernet. If a cd changer is the only solution in that price range it would preferably be with keyboard input.
An IPOD is NOT a viable solution.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I also have been looking for a good solution for a media server to show clients that are completely into iTunes and their iPods.
When will apple step into that niche?

Does the iPod Photo put the artist, title, and cover art out through the video cable? Could use that as a form of feedback to a TP.

I've never had alot of exp. with mac but there are several software solutions for controlling a windows pc if you have a wifi network, pc and a ppc Netremote http://www.promixis.com/products.php?section=netremote_comparison with girder its almost limitless for pc control not to mention ccf ir control over wifi with usb uirt (you can even email commands for girder and netremote :D ). But the usb uirt can not do wake on lan (i haven't had any luck getting WOL to work on usb) like the serial uirt but serial has issues from what i've read. For a more simple control of itunes and winamp http://www.smashcasi.com/remoteamp/ it works great and its stable with 2 way comm between ppc and pc.

Netremote/girder can be very time consuming if you don't know Lua programming and try to make any custom plug ins(control over a serial expander with girder would be nice). Not to mention the time you can put into a ccf (wish they would make a pcf ver.) like my 1.5 meg multiroom thats still not finished completely (probaly never will be lol).

Do vga to component with a key switcher you can even add a vid card with vid in on it so you can watch another source while surfing internet.
Anything RF is flaky (compared to wifi) at best try finding a wifi keyboard/mouse or i've used http://www.xronox.com/XronoxSite/TotalInputEliteInfo.aspx before and it works very well. Remoteamp and totalinput with a linksys 54g router is what i use in my car for control of my pc, gps, mp3's,net (via cell phone and bluetooth also pops my calls up on the screen :D when not on the net) and video's over fiber and vga to composit to alpine 6.1 proc. and indash 16:9 7" alpine dvd (not for the unexp. driver btw    ). Almost ready to move entirely to pc control with http://www.xenarc.com/product/700ts.html and THX cert creative sound card/usb dvd/rw have my boot time down to 25 secs.
Have seen a post before on mp3car.com where a guy said he was almost finished getting an alpine dvd changer to work from serial (not sure if he got it working but i have seen serial control for alpine's m-bus cd changer so ai-net is possible). Well im just rambling (and way off subject) now just been a side project lately when i have time between work and family.
