Dang, it's awfully dark in here.....

Must have run a 14-2 on a 20 amp breaker and had a melt down.....lol

Wow! Hey, this is too cool! My own room! This hasn't happened to me since my older brother went off to college!

At least I know my humor will be appreciated in here. :D

Any real questions, anyone? Anyone? Frye? Frye? Frye?

Is your new room fed by 110 or 220?

Larry, do you have much experience with X-10 lighting controls?
I have a customer with an existing theatre and he would like to incorporate some lighting controls. Would you recommend a better solution than X-10? What would I need to get started?

Shadowman68,

sorry this is so late but I just joined. For lighting controls I would stay way far away from x10. It is just too outdated and unreliable. I personally use Z-wave but some of my friends are happy with their UPB installs also. Harmony and Monster are both coming out with really nice remote controls which can control IR behind a cabinet via an RF relay. Basically you put a receiver anywhere you want within a certain distance and the rf signals are relayed from the remote to the receiver and then converted to IR signals for controlling your equipment. Then seperately built into the remote is z-wave support so you can use the same remote to control all your lighting. I don't think either remote is available yet but they will be soon as they were displayed at the CES show. Visit www.cocooontech.com and do a search for CES and you should find exclusive writeups about both remotes including replies from their manufactures.

I am what most people call a z-wave expert so if you have questions about it feel free to ask me. If i don't know the answer I know who does :)

Thank you for that detail reply. I totally understand that z-wave, upb etc. are not up to par for pro installs and I think I see what you mean by me missing half the forum. I will get verified asap.

Things are very different when you have tp pay someone to go out and fix a product that is having issues. Not to discredit anything new coming out or your knowledge of them. Just be aware of who/if someone will be answering the phone when you are having problems.
