In the last few weeks there has been a decent amount of talk about developing business processes and getting your business to run better and more efficiently. This is a really good thing, because rather you know it or not, you already have processes and methods. Of course these ad hoc processes more than likely, lead your business down an inefficient path and leave your clients with a less than consistent experience. If you want your business to be successful and you want your life back, this must change. From many of your posts, I know there’s a lingering question out there. Why must I go through all this work, Why is it worth the time, after all I have a rack to build, remotes to program, and proposals to finish. The most important reason is risk. The more your business success depends on your hands on work, the more you put your business at risk to fail.

Well I thoght I'd post this for anyone interested. These are just my initial observations, and i am by no means an expert reviewer like many on here. As such, some of my comments may seem obvious to the more experiences guys. This is also VERY early in the install process. All I have connected as far as "sub systems" right now is distributed audio and messaging. I installed the system and had it talking to the sub systems in about a day. So far this is what has stuck out. I have some doubts on their suppoort capabilities. A lot of the questions I posed to them seemed to be new to them. That concerns me when I thought I was going with a proven track record, and not a Control 4 style Beta test:) They DID however, (confirmned by other H/L dealers as well) seem VERY interested in wanting to know WHAT it is we need/want, and actually pursuing it. Issues I have come across so far, in no particular order 1. No ability to control/monitor sub (A-bus) zones of the Russound CAV6 DA system. 2. No digital audio out (Id like to be able to use the media server as a source for a main theatre room, and have more than just the in-wall speakers)

I haven't yet integrated this into my whole HT/HA setup; i was going to pursue an IR integration scheme, but someone may help me do this via contact closures, which could be cool as it'd be much more stable. (i'm not affiliated with tech-home, which is where I bought this thing from and put a link to. I'm attaching that page just so you can get more info, as they have data that I'm not repeating. This is just a simple review from a guy who just put up in his house) Just got & mounted some relatively cheap ($130) IR controllable curtain rods for the H/T room, thought you guys would want to know. I'm planning on taking full advantage of the IR and not actually manually interacting with them unless absolutely necessary. This means: - Use my home theater/home automation package (CQC)'s event scheduler to open up the curtains every day at 7am - On TV is turned on, have CQC close curtains as it shines too bright a glare on my plasma. - Have CQC open curtains when TV is turned off.
